About Recharge for vets
Our Mission
At Recharge for Vets, our mission is to honor and support the courageous men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces by providing opportunities for them to recharge and reconnect with nature through scuba diving, fishing, and hunting trips. We believe in the healing power of the outdoors and aim to empower veterans to find peace, purpose, and camaraderie in the wilderness. Through our non-profit organization, we strive to express our gratitude for their sacrifices and ensure that our veterans experience the revitalizing benefits of outdoor adventures as they transition back to civilian life.
Our Programs
Introduction to Outdoor Activities Workshops
At Recharge for Vets, we offer workshops to introduce veterans to hunting, fishing, scuba diving and other activities. We provide basic skills training, safety guidelines, and equipment demonstrations.
Guided Hunting Trips:
- Organize guided hunting trips to various locations suitable for different types of game.
- Partner with experienced hunters and outfitters to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Provide necessary equipment, such as firearms, ammunition, and camouflage gear.
Fishing Excursions:
- Arrange fishing excursions to local lakes, rivers, or coastal areas.
- Provide fishing equipment, bait, and boats if needed.
- Offer instruction on fishing techniques and practices for different types of fish.
Scuba Diving Expeditions:
- Coordinate scuba diving trips to explore underwater ecosystems and marine life.
- Partner with certified dive instructors and dive shops to provide training and equipment.
- Ensure safety by conducting pre-dive briefings and adhering to diving protocols.
Specialized Programs for Veterans with Disabilities:
- Develop specialized programs tailored to veterans with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and accommodations.
- Provide adaptive equipment and assistance from trained staff to enable participation in outdoor activities.
Multi-Day Retreats:
- Organize multi-day retreats that combine hunting, fishing, and scuba diving experiences.
- Offer opportunities for relaxation, camaraderie, and reflection amidst nature.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
- Collaborate with local communities, businesses, and other organizations to support and promote the programs.
- Organize community events, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns to engage a wider audience and garner support.
Ongoing Support and Resources:
- Establish a support network for veterans, offering resources and referrals for additional assistance.
